 Little Gasparilla Island is a bridgleless barrier island.  There are no paved roads, just sand trails.The island is located off of the west coast of Florida in Charlotte County.

Wildlife is abundant, and the affects of redtide are easily documented when a bloom surrounds the island.

Little Gasparilla Island Fire and Rescue

The fire department was founded by Eugene Surdam in 2002, and now has grown to four trucks and 25 fulltime volunteers.

This is a great feat condsidering there are only 70 -ish fulltime residents on the island.

The trucks came over via ferry, and had to come down

the beach from PalImg32.pngm Island.

Swimming to church is optional, the church is the

only structure of it's type on island. There are no buisnesses or
